Who is Silky Tots
Nikki Bardis, the entrepreneurial force behind Silky Tots, balances the demands of motherhood with the challenges of running a thriving business. A mother to two young daughters, Nikki conceptualised Silky Tots out of a need to address her eldest daughter Ollie’s hair loss due to friction from cotton sheets. Despite facing personal and professional hurdles—including a temporary separation from her husband just after the birth of her second child, Mia—Nikki persisted. She transformed her idea into a tangible product, the cot sleeve, which became the cornerstone of Silky Tots.
The Challenge
Silky Tots was shipping USA orders directly from Australia, adding time to orders and causing abandoned carts because of shipping times and costs. The inability to service the US market was limiting growth.
Fulfillmate's Solution
Fulfillmate completed a study to review the costs and impact of moving inventory to the USA and servicing clients domestically. The transition was seamless, and Fulfillmate managed the entire process of getting stock from Australia and Asia into our facilities ready to sell.
The Outcome
USA sales increased organically by over 200% in the first six months after setting up inventory in California. Silky Tots has increased marketing in the USA and moved the focus from the Australian market to the USA and Canada.
